A younger twist dominated Valentin Yudashkin’s catwalk. A fresh perspective, allegedly brought in by his daughter, saw sophisticated dresses paired up with combat boots, sweaters and sport-inspired jackets. A new, and perhaps commercially strategic, move for the label.
Sheath dresses, trouser suits, and some great pinstripes pieces added an elegant touch to the collection – reclaiming the glitz and glam of good old classics, what’s not to love? Nicely waist-accented silhouettes also hinted at formal traditionalism, but were smoothly counterbalanced with boxy outerwear that pushed a very contemporary mood to the show.
Speaking of which, not many manage to implement crafty textures in modern styles as fluidly as Yudashkin. Coats were complimented by voluminous elements, whilst evening dresses were heavily embellished, sticking to the brand’s fancy signature feel.
