After creating my own bitters about a year ago, I’ve been dying to experiment with them to create the perfect spirits. Needless to say when I purchased Dillons Rose Gin, I knew it would be a match made in heaven! This traditional London-style gin is infused with Dillon’s special Seven Botanical base, with enticing Rosehip and Rose Petals which are then sweetened with Turbinado Sugar to make the perfect addition to any cocktail of your desire.
With beautiful soft floral aromas as well as a hint of juniper, citrus and a bit of spice on the nose, I figured adding two drops of my home made rosewood bitters would be a perfect match. Add a splash of Campari, garnish with orange zest or fresh Pineapple Thyme and get ready for a perfect cocktail to start the season.
• 1 oz. dry gin
• 1 oz. Dillon’s Rose Gin
• ¼ oz Campari
• 1 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 dashes of Rose bitters (I used my own but you can purchase a variety through Dillons)
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a couple of ice cubes, shake and serve! if the you are looking for a lighter alternative you can add a splash of sparkling water or Prosecco to your glass before adding the mixed cocktail.
