Say, “I Do” to These Bridal Trends This Season

Ah, July. The month of much anticipated patio drinks, outdoor concerts, good ‘ol Canadian patriotism and of course, #WeddingSeason. On the topic of commitment, it takes A LOT for a bride-to-be to say yes to the dress these days. But as sweethearts say their I do’s this summer, the bride is sure to capture your undivided attention with these current bridal beauty and fashion trends.

While the chic, form fitted mermaid gown has been a staple in bridal fashion for the past couple of years, the fit and flare silhouette is back. Specifically in the form of super feminine corset and sleeve details covered in lace. Intricate designs are beautifully executed by showing some skin in the most regal way possible. Sweetheart necklines are here to stay and rightfully so! I mean, the name says it all.

3.4Opulent elegance may sound redundant but it’s the only way to accurately describe bridal fashion this season. Drawing attention to the bottom half of the gown, you’ll notice layering is key to the flared silhouette. Working with tulle and other delicate fabrics adds to the overall femininity of the gown that most brides (and grooms!) adore.

Let’s focus on beauty for a minute. Hair is made into perfectly styled up-dos with small pieces framing the face and even some 20’s/30’s inspired glamour waves. Floral headpieces (think minimal details, not your popular Snapchat filter) are also on trend this season, adding, once again,  to the super feminine details. Makeup is kept classic with a smokey eye and red lip, while brows are always on-point. Makeup artists are sticking to soft blush hues and easing up on contouring (sorry, Kim K!) for that more natural look. That doesn’t mean a quality highlighter isn’t invited though! Summer is the perfect time for that sought after dewy finish no other beauty product can execute quite as good. RSVP: Yes!

Tying everything together in a nuptial knot, key trends this season are: intricately designed lace, fabric layering, fit and flare, sweetheart necklines, classic hair with floral headpieces and natural makeup with bold statements. As expected, feminine details and fabrics are here to stay. If you’re celebrating the best day of your life this summer, congratulations! If you’re a bridesmaid, an invited guest or a plus one, at least you can now confidently discuss bridal trends of Summer 2016.
