Polo in the Park is back August 27, 2016 for the second time. This fundraiser event, organized by the rotary club of Ottawa South and Wesley Clover Parks benefits the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and the Therapeutic Riding Association of Ottawa-Carleton (TROtt). The Wabano Centre provides both health and social services for aboriginal women and families, while TROtt offers therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
Hosted in Nepean the event begins at 10:00 am and offers more than just polo; spectators can enjoy food concession stands, dog agility events, horse rides, and many activities for children. Staying true to the traditions of polo, there will also be a hat competition and divot stomping. VIP tickets cost $250 each, include a lunch and tea, two complimentary drink tickets, free parking, and a perfect view of the match. Polo is widely considered to be hockey on horseback and is one of the oldest sports in the world. The game will be played against the Toronto Polo Club. This exciting match is for an amazing cause and will surely become a glamorous go to event in Ottawa.
