Moncler’s Red Range, whilst featuring a handful of red pieces (including one very red plaid jacket) could also have been named Moncler’s Gamme Crème or Moncler’s Gamme Rose. Every look came accompanied with a pair of very dainty light cream tights which really set the tone for the whole scene. One saw an array of gorgeous, gorgeous fluffy pinks, lilacs, burgundies and reds in shearling coats, knit-wear jumpers and beautiful, flowing dresses.
The show began with a burgundy and pink floral-patterned jacket layered underneath a burgundy and baby pink jumper with a two-tone pink and grey tweed skirt. Whilst one of the darker colour-ways of the show, this ensemble sent a clear message of what the mood for the Gamme Rouge was – girly, fluffy, delicate and polite.
Naturally, Moncler being famous for their jackets and ski-wear a handful of outer-wear centric pieces emerged, such as the aforementioned red plaid jacket, or a white and black knee-length ski jacket however even the striking red ski-jacket with black shoulders and lapels was paired with a very dainty pink tweed dress. One would have to say that one’s over-riding impression is that the Gamme Rouge is bringing back a princess-like, traditionally girly aesthetic for AW17 in a particularly magical manner. The shearling detailing and light pinks and tweeds all make for a cotton candy dream-land of textures and aesthetics. A true delight.
